The Meriwether

A Rise in oil painting

It has been quite some time since I have sent out The Meriwether. While I have missed it, I’ve been busy learning to oil paint. Below are my first seven oil paintings. I have not added background information on them because I would like you to view them for their composition. While looking, notice the difference in brushstrokes, color, detail and style between each painting. Learning to oil paint has been an incredible experience. I am challenged every time I pick up the paint brush. Luckily, oil is forgiving, so I have been able to work through my mistakes and learn from each painting. This summer I will be continuing to explore new compositions and stories through oils.

Please enjoy my first seven works as an oil painter.
